Rob McKenna doesn't understand the 99% need a raise!

If Rob McKenna doesn't think the 99% need a raise, he should try living a week on minimum wage himself.

  • As a member of the King County Council, he voted against a raise for childcare workers who were earning barely more than minimum wage.
  • As Attorney General, he tried to block a 12¢ increase in the state minimum wage.
  • Just before launching his bid for Governor, he said he'd support a lower, sub-minimum wage for some workers.

In fact, McKenna has suggested the 99% already get more than they should. When speaking to a crowd of business leaders last year, McKenna didn't say a word about record corporate profits, giant tax loopholes, skyrocketing CEO paychecks, or the need to invest in our communities — but he did make the curious suggestion that the state could reduce unemployment by paying some workers less than minimum wage!

We are also having a rally outside of McKenna's downtown Seattle office July 24, 2012 11 AM.
